Community Action Commission is a major provider of subsidized child care in Santa Barbara County, providing over 50 culturally enriching preschool classrooms in 34 sites countywide. The Head Start, Early Head Start and Child Development Programs are able to serve 1013 young children (infant to 5 years old) from eligible families.

The Child Care Planning Council team is a group of stakeholders that have received a $137,000 grant to increase capacity of non state-subsidized child care providers to serve children with disabilities, birth through school age. Their plan is to provide training and TA, resource packets and support groups for child care providers.
