you can reserve their outdoor, semi-covered picnic space, plus you get 20 rides on the miniature train (you can buy tickets for more rides as you need them. Sandy recommends.

Fillmore and Western Train Company. Fun-train ride for kids. Debbie has had parties on the train. Recommends it around Christmas because Santa is on the train and you can cut your own tree. They also have Thomas the Train rides with a real Thomas the Tank Engine train and lots of games. These occur at different times during the year.

UCSB Pool - Great place for summer birthday parties.

Santa Barbara Zoo has fun birthday parties for kids. The basic package brings in one animal and for an extra fee they have a "character" come to the party (an adult dressed as animal). Downside is it hard to keep track of kids.

Hitchcock YMCA Kids Gym. YMCA provides balloons and streamers in the party room, plus their staff supervise the Gym, facilitate the games, and if you opt for the swimming component (we didn't) they provide lifejackets, kickboards, and lifeguard supervision for an hour of free swim in the pool. They have a refrigerator/freezer to keep your party food cold, and keep candles, lighters, serving utensils, etc. on hand in case you forget something. Sandy recommends.

1. 2 cups glue, 1 1/2 cups water
   (mix seperately)
2. 1 cup water, 1 tbsp borax
   (mix separately)
   add food coloring here, if desired
3. MIX (2) into (1) with bare hands
   
   * for the chemical reaction to work, (2) must be placed into (1)!!!
